Scripture and Song for the Day

Sorry I missed a post yesterday! It was a busy day! But here is a scripture and song for today!

Scripture:
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, what- ever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)

I find myself many times caught up in the things of the world. I hear curse words daily. I see things on the TV that are not of God. And I feel anger and depression. When we come in contact with these things it makes it hard to just think about God and put all this other junk out of our minds to contemplate on He who matters most. To be honest, how do you deal with seeing a half naked woman/man on TV? I usually have to turn the TV to a different channel or don't watch TV at all. I think that at all times our mind needs to be on God. One tip I got from some women at the church I attend was that on the hour every hour we should reset our focus to make sure it is on God. Set an alarm clock for every hour until you get to where it becomes a habit. Then our minds will constantly be on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely. admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy! We need to learn to think about the good things and not focus so much on the bad!

I really love this song. I know that I as a Christian, want God to prepare me to be a sanctuary for Him. That way I can have that peace and comfort to take to those who are lost and need the hope that Jesus Christ gives us. I want to be a sanctuary to do His work.

 Scripture:

My view:
I think that this verse ministers to everyone, I mean how can we as those who believe in Christ, say that we love God if 1) We don't love ourselves and 2) We don't love our neighbors? God is love. We do need to first learn to love ourselves in order to learn to love others. And we must love God to know God. I'm not saying we shouldn't have a little fear of God, He is our Heavenly Father after all. But our love for Him should be immeasurable! "For God so loved (agape) the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Since this is the case how come we cannot love Him, ourselves, and our neighbors wholeheartedly? He died for US! I do understand there are some bad apples in the world but you know someone has to reach out to them. If we don't they may go to hell. God may want us to be that person to lead them to Christ. So my advice for you is to love everyone!

I know that many of us have our own trials and tribulations. Me for example, I come from a family of alcoholics, drug addicts, gays, and unsaved people. It breaks my heart and I go through a lot all of the time because of the situation they put themselves in. I have also lost a lot of amazing people in my life in very tragic ways. But being a woman of God I find it much easier to deal with and knowing that God has overcome the world gives me the hope and strength I need to move on to better things. I know that God will make change and that gives me peace. Thank you Lord.

I feel this song relays to what my scripture of the day says. Why should we be afraid? For God has overcome the world! Worry, frustration, aggravation, is not from God. God has overcome we do not need to have all of these awful things in our lives! God is an awesome God isn't He?

Scripture for the Day and Song for the day!

Here is a scripture and a song I would love to hear your thoughts about and I will also share my own. Hopefully I will be able to do this daily!

Scripture: 

Deut 31:6, 8 "Be strong and courageous... The Lord himself ... will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you..."

I believe that this scriptures lets us know that no matter what God is with us. When we are preaching, talking to someone else about Christ, if we have Christ in our lives but still feel a little lonely in our situations, or if we do not have Christ in our lives at all.

Its good to know we have a God who loves us and is with us no matter what. Our God is a good God and never puts us thru more than we can handle and during these times I think we should fall on our knees and thank God for being there for us because most of the time, I know for me, I could never make it if I didn't know God was there.

 Sometimes I think we all feel "Alone" in some way. In our marriage, in friendships, etc. I know that many times I have felt this way. It isn't a good feeling. but as the scripture above states, God never leaves us or forsakes us. Even tho I know in my situation, when I felt lonely, it was my fault. I could always cry out to God and talk to Him but never did. So I encourage you, from now on, when you are lost and alone to cry out to your Savior.

He is ALWAYS there and you never have to be alone!

I have had many blogs over the past years but have always had a hard time keeping them update. What I would like to do with this one is share a scripture with you each day and contemplate on it with you. I would like to have other peoples opinions on the scripture and how they believe that the scripture applies to everyday life etc. I also want to share video, pictures, and testimonies on how God is working in my life and in other peoples lives.

There are a lot of things going on in my life that I would like to chat with others about and maybe help encourage and uplift with the word of God. I know that the trials we go through just make us stronger soldiers for Christ and the stories we have are to be shared with others so that they can see they are not alone. This blog is to help me be a bolder Christian and be able to share the good word with anyone and everyone who will listen and who God tells me to share it with. I know many times I get scared that others will judge me but that is one thing I am praying about and hoping can change with the help of this blog.  Currently in my family I have members who are unsaved, drug addicts, alcoholics, and gay. I love them but am so worried for their souls. It really bothers me and I find it hard to talk to anyone about. But I have faith that one day someone will be able to minister to these people in my family so that they will turn their lives around. I still love them and do not judge them because I know it is Satan destroying their lives. Anyways I like feedback and if you would like to contact me feel free. I have a lot of open time and will get back to you ASAP.
