 Scripture:

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: he sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. My view:
I think that this verse ministers to everyone, I mean how can we as those who believe in Christ, say that we love God if 1) We don't love ourselves and 2) We don't love our neighbors? God is love. We do need to first learn to love ourselves in order to learn to love others. And we must love God to know God. I'm not saying we shouldn't have a little fear of God, He is our Heavenly Father after all. But our love for Him should be immeasurable! "For God so loved (agape) the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Since this is the case how come we cannot love Him, ourselves, and our neighbors wholeheartedly? He died for US! I do understand there are some bad apples in the world but you know someone has to reach out to them. If we don't they may go to hell. God may want us to be that person to lead them to Christ. So my advice for you is to love everyone!
